I’m Marco. I build software, lately a lot of it around LLMs and machine learning, and I like the part where you’re still figuring out whether an idea works at all.
I started out as a software engineer and never really stopped being one. Before the AI work there were years of backend services, APIs, databases and front ends, and that is still most of what a working AI system turns out to be made of. Where that happened is under experience, and the degrees that came before it under education.
Since July 2026 I’ve been freelance. Right now that means sovereign LLMs for European defence, and fact checking with AI.
Outside of work I’m usually training: triathlon, basketball, snowboarding, calisthenics, plain old gym. The rest of my free time goes into my homelab, which is either running perfectly or on fire. Some of the things I’ve worked on, at work and on my own, are under projects.
I daily drive Omarchy, which is Arch underneath, and do all my editing in LazyVim. Both are the kind of setup you keep tinkering with long after it already works, which is most of the appeal.
If you want to talk about any of it, contact has the ways to reach me.
